You're probably wondering what this title. It's just the literal translation of "beaded edge Hedebo" English name of the stitch Sharon proposed this week. I was unable to find its French name. It is a little long to embroider but finaly less difficult than it seems.

To learn this stitch, I embroidered a little sampler. I noticed with pleasure that it allows the use of relatively capricious threads. I love embroidery with different types of threads, but many stitches will pay little for their use and the result is often disappointing, which is not the case with this one.

I admit I cheated a little with pearls: I've set them after embroidered border, on the one hand because the thread often clinged to them, and in the other hand because most often, my thread was a bit to large to pass through the beads and it was easier to set them at the end, with a finer but with the same color thread.

Pauline has worked well this week. She liked to use beads and she was more careful with her stiches than last week.

RépondreSupprimerI like the suggestion of adding beads after the stitching too -
Thanks KippysSoMature. Adding beads after stitching is realy simpler.
SupprimerMother and daughter, good work by you both.

SupprimerAlthough this stitch is long to embroider, it has a nice look.
2 jolis samplers !

Pauline loves bright colors. Sometimes, she makes error, but more often she makes good choices.
